After twelve World Championships and three Olympic Games it is over: Reto Berra has decided to no longer play for the national team for the remainder of his career. As he says in his post, the World Championship in his home country was the perfect ending.

The 37-year-old can look back on a long and successful career with the Swiss national team. He made his debut in the 2010-11 season, took part in 15 big tournamens and won four silver medals with the Swiss team. Berra was on the roster for four of the five World Championship Finals, he only missed the one in 2025.

The veteran explains his decision by saying that he now needs to listen to his body. At the same time, he wants to make way for younger goaltenders.
