Just as "Expressen" speculated in April, the defender has signed with the Swedish club after being released by Zug.

Two days ago, EV Zug announced the departure of Niklas Hansson. It had been a long-expected move. He has now joined Jönköping-based HV71 for the coming three years. Back in 2017, the defenseman was part of the club as well when they last won the Swedish championship.

"In Niklas, we get a defenseman with a lot of experience who has demonstrated his top-notch qualities in Europe for several years, both in club teams and in Tre Kronor", HV71's team manager Björn Liljander notes. "He has developed into a defenseman who is strong across the entire rink and who will be useful to us in all aspects of the game. It's also great to see Niklas' motivation to be back in Jönköping and what it means to him."
