Between yesterday and today, the three teams still in the competition played the second leg of the round of 16 with mixed results.

Despite a 3-2 loss against Sparta Prague, yesterday evening EV Zug could celebrate advancing to the quarterfinals, thanks to a 6-0 result in their favor during the first leg. Also yesterday, SC Bern stepped on the ice but did not manage to defend the 2-1 lead from the first leg and ended up losing in overtime to Brynäs IF.

Earlier this evening, it was the turn of the reigning champions, the ZSC Lions, to try and advance to the quarterfinals. Tied after the first leg, KalPa Kuopio and the Lions met up in Finland, where the hosts got the ticket to the next stage after winning 4-2.
