In Act 3 of the quarterfinal series between SC Bern and HC Fribourg-Gottéron, Andreas Borgmann hit Marc Marchon into the boards. Penalized with a five-minute major and a misconduct on the ice, the defenseman was subsequently provisionally suspended and had proceeding opened against him. These have now resulted in a three-game suspension for the Swede - one of which has already been served.

In another case, there will be no disciplinary action. In Part 4 of the series between Lausanne HC and the SCL Tigers, Gavin Bayreuther hit a linesman from behind. The members of the "Sounding Board", which deals with potential cases of IIHF Rule 39/40 (Abuse of Officials) violations, decided in a majority vote to leave the matter be. This "Sounding Board" consists of PSO Ryan Gardner, Players' Union representative Marc Reichert and Officiating Manager Philipp Rytz
