In Act One of the semifinal series between EHC Olten and the GCK Lions, the home team's Rihards Melnalksnis checked opponent Timo Bünzli into the boards. Penalized with a five-minute major plus a misconduct on the ice, the forward had proceedings opened against him and was provisionally suspended for one game. The single judge has now added two more games.
Melnalksnis has already served one of his games. In addition to the suspension, the 24-year-old has to pay a fine of CHF 1,000.-.
