The 23-year-old forward is under investigation for an incident that occurred in the game on January 25.
Gianluca Barbei has been provisionally suspended for one game for a check to the head of the GCK Lions' Julian Mettler in the 20th minute of play of Thursday's game. At the same time, proceedings were initiated against him.
Barbei will thus miss tonight's game against the Bellinzona Rockets. In 42 games for HC La Chaux-de-Fonds, he has recorded two goals and three assists.
