Justin Salamin has been suspended for violating IIHF rule 39 and 40 'Abuse of Officials'. The incident occurred on December 27, and Salamin was subsequently provisionally suspended for one game.
Salamin checked a linesman to his back, causing him to fall over. The forward immediately apologised to the official after the incident. Still, as the forward had time to correct his way of movement and the official was physically impacted, the single judge had to deem it a category 2 incident, which led to a three-game suspension.
