The 26-year-old forward sustained the injury in the second period of the game between the New Jersey Devils and the Montreal Canadiens.

Nico Hischier seems to have suffered the injury through a cross-check by Nick Suzuki in the second period. While he tried to play again in the third period, he eventually had to throw in the towel.
Head coach Sheldon Keefe told reporters after the game that Hischier is considered day-to-day. The nature of his injury has not been disclosed.
