Both players sustained a shoulder injury and will have to undergo season-ending surgery.
During the first period of the game between the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers and the SCL Tigers on January 21, Nico Dünner was at the receiving end of a check against the boards. Medical exams showed that the injury requires surgery.
For his part, Luca Capaul suffered the injury during a game with EHC Winterthur, for which he plays on loan from the Lakers. Last Thursday, he was checked by an opponent. Also in his case, surgery is inevitable.
