According to the Linth-Zeitung, the goaltender had to leave the game between the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers and EHC Kloten early.
Melvin Nyffeler first left the ice a few minutes after a collision with Axel Simic in the second period. He returned to his net after a couple of minutes, but eventually, he had to throw in the towel.
Nyffeler has appeared in 40 games for the Lakers this season, posting a .913 save percentage.
