According to the "Oltner Tagblatt", Florian Schmuckli injured his thumb in a game. Medical exams revealed that his ligaments and bones were impacted. He will thus require surgery and is expected to be out for about ten weeks. First exams estimated his absence to be three to four months.
Schmuckli has thus at least the chance to play again this season, depending in the speed of his recovery. As already reported yesterday, David Moser, too, is out for the time being with a concussion.
Thomas Roost, team manager of EHC Olten, thus has decided to acquire the B-license of HC Davos defender Guus van der Kaaij (17) and will test SC Bern's Marvin Rötheli (19) and give him a chance to play in a Swiss League game tonight.
