Successor for Gerber - Kloten Flyers start negotiations with HCD's Leonardo Genoni

RUMOR - With only one more year to his contract in Kloten, 39-year-old goaltender Martin Gerber sees his career slowly coming to an end. The Kloten Flyers are already looking for a solution and have their eyes fixed on HCD's Leonardo Genoni.

Just as Martin Gerber's contract in Kloten comes to an end after the upcoming season, also Leonardo Genoni's contract with Davos is coming to an end. According to the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, it will most likely be his last season in Davos - all signs point to him leaving the Grisons.

This constellation seems to be a very fortunate one for the Flyers. Still according to the "NZZ", Genoni will probably move to Kloten and succeed Martin Gerber. Talks between the 26-year-old Swiss international and the Kloten Flyers are scheduled for the time after the World Championship in Minsk.

With HC Davos, Leonardo Genoni won the Swiss Championship twice (2009 and 2011). In the 2010-11 season, he also was elected the National League A's "Goalie of the Year" and "Most Valuable Player".
