RUMOR - According to "Blick".ch, SC Bern's team manager Sven Leuenberger is ready to give up his position, if management is no longer satisfied with his job perfomance.

In the aftermath of yesterday's loss to National League A leader ZSC Lions, which also meant that SC Bern is missing the playoffs for the first time since the introduction of the new mode, Leuenberger told "Blick": "I made mistakes in the acquirement of our import players. If the team is not satisfied with me, I will pack my bags."

Leuenberger's import players did clearly not have the impact on the team's performance, the 44-year-old wanted them to have. Late additions Glen Metropolit and Daniel Grillfors were not able to turn the tide in SC Bern's favour and Mikko Lehtonen was traded to HC Lugano after a weak 32-games-performance (4 goals, 9 assists) with last year's NLA champion. Anyhow, that was certainly not the only reason for SC Bern's bad performance this season.

Time will tell, what CEO Marc Lüthi will decide to do after this season's bitter disappointment. Playouts are the next order of buisness in the capital city, everything else will probably have to wait until afterwards.
