Will Simon Moser’s adventure overseas come to an end after one season?

After being a late cut from the Nashville Predators roster after training camp, Simon Moser played most of the season with the Milwaukee Admirals in the AHL and only dressed in six NHL games for the Preds. Shortly after his NHL-debut, the Swiss forward sustained an injury and had to miss most of the remainder of the regular season.

With his now expiring two-way contract with Nashville, the 25-year-old earned under CHF 100’000.- during his past year overseas, estimates "Watson".ch. As his agent Georges Müller tells the website on request, the stay in North America under those financial terms will not be continued.

Should Simon Moser decide to return to Switzerland, the former SCL Tigers captain would still be under contract with SC Bern, a two-year deal Moser signed last summer before joining the Predators' training camp. A trade to another team is not in the cards, according to Müller.

Moser and the Predators have now time until July 1^st to agree on a new contract for the upcoming season. Should the negotiations prove unsuccessful, the Swiss international will become a restricted free agent, meaning that other NHL teams can make an offer, while the Preds still have the option to match any of those bids.

In other words, a final decision on Moser’s future cannot be expected in the near future but rather after the summer in September or October.
