Being the third-best scorer of the Swedish Hockey League with 57 points in 54 games and the second-best goalscorer with 28 goals, it is no surprise that Linus Klasen is a man who is very much in demand on the international market. His contract with Luleå, where he is a team mate of Swiss defenseman Dean Kukan, is running out at the end of the season and the decision seems to be made that Klasen will leave Sweden.
Already in November of last year, the Expressen reported that the 28-year-old might leave Sweden soon and by the end of December his agent confirmed to the Norrbotten Kuriren that there are offers from the KHL. Now, the same source reveals that Klasen will definitely leave Sweden and move either to the KHL or the National League A.
There is no word on his options in Switzerland, but there is most likely more than just one team that would dream of having a forward like Klasen on their roster. He is not only a player who scores goals, but also one who scores the important ones. This season, he was responsible for nine game winning goals – that’s top of the SHL.
