RUMOR - What had been considered a sure thing last fall now seems to be up in the air: according to Die Südostschweiz, Sean Simpson's contract extension is no done deal yet.

Early in the season, a four-year contract extension with Swiss national team's head coach Sean Simpson until 2018 had been announced as a mere formality, coming off the national team's silver medal win at last year's World Championships.

Now, Klaus Zaugg writes in Die Südostschweiz, that the situation has changed as the contract negotiations are far from being completed. DEL-team Adler Mannheim reportedly shows interest in a collaboration with Simpson as of next season.

Clarity on the future of the 53-year old Canadian cannot be expected in the imminent future. "We are working on a new contract. But we have agreed on a break in the negotiations for the duration of the Olympic tournament", Simpson told the newspaper.
