NHL/NLA - A couple of hours ago, Cody Almond has cleared waivers and has been assigned to Minnesota's AHL-affiliate, the Iowa Wild. The decision whether to play in Iowa or to return to Geneva is expected within 24 hours.
According to the Minnesota-based newspaper StarTribune, Almond said that he would take one day to decide wether to report to the Iowa Wild or to return to Genève-Servette HC with which he has a running contract until the end of the 2018/19 season.
For Geneva, Almond's return would no doubt be a pleasant thing. Over the course of the last two seasons, the 25-year-old forward has registered 71 points (26 goals, 45 assists) in 102 games for the Grenats.
