Derek Ryan, who recently confirmed that he would be interested in continuing his career in Switzerland, will finally stay in North America. The 29-year-old forward has inked a new one-year, two-way deal with the Hurricanes.
Ryan played for Örebro HK of the SHL during the 2014-15 season before he decided to try his luck in the NHL. Last season, the American appeared in six games for the Carolina Hurricanes as well as in 70 games for their AHL-affiliate the Charlotte Checkers, scoring 55 points. (rlu)
