AHL or NLA? Jonas Siegenthaler still unsure of his plans for next season

Siegenthaler, apparently, is still dealing with the adjustement to the North American hockey rinks. "The first few practices weren’t that good," he tells the Washington Post. “The rink is smaller. You don’t have that much time like in Switzerland with a bigger rink. It’s much more smaller than in Switzerland. For a defenseman, you have to watch out."

Troy Mann, the Hershey Bears' head coach, however, is still impressed of the youngster's performance and skills: "He’s got a very bright future and there’s no doubt, with the way the lineup is, he’ll probably start in Hershey next year.”

AHL or NLA? Siegenthaler for his part is still unsure where he will be next season, though he expects to know it soon. Up next for the youngster is the three-team rookie tournament in Coral Spring, Florida, from September 17-20, where the Capitals, Lightning and Panthers will participate.

The 2015 second round draft pick was signed to a three-year entry level contract by the Capitals last year. He then, however, continued to play for the ZSC Lions, his youth team, albeit on loan. At the end of the season, Siegenthaler made a short trip to North America where he played six games in the AHL for the Capitals' affiliate team, the Hershey Bears. (rlu)
