EHC Olten confirms signing of SCL's Silvan Wyss and is in talks with Polanský

Wyss has indeed signed a one-year contract, which includes an option for an additional season, as EHC Olten confirms. He will thus continue his career in the NLB. The 23-year-old forward started the season with the SCL Tigers but was sent to Hockey Thurgau of the NLB after 21 games. For the Lions, he then appeared in 27 games, scoring 11 points (five goals, six assists).

In addition, according to the same source, Czech import forward Jiří Polanský might stay with the Mice. The 35-year-old center left HC Oceláři Třinec in December after a dispute with his coach and played on loan for Olten. However, as Třinec has a new coach now, Polanksý could return to Czechia. However, he has not taken a decision yet. "We have been in contact with Jiří," EHC Olten's spokesman Hagmann confirms. 

Moreover, EHC Olten is also looking for an additional center for next year's roster. The club confirms that they are talking with several players. At the same time, Cyril Aeschlimann's future is still uncertain. The 33-year-old forward has yet to receive an offer from his youth team. 

Concerning the defenders, the Mice have already completed their roster. It is nonetheless possible that they sign another player as they could send some of their younger defenders to their partner EHC Zuchwil-Regio.  As for Codey Burki, who suffered a severe concussion at the beginning of October 2016 and has been out ever since, he has decided to retire from the game of hockey.
