NLB - Because their goalie Dominic Nyffeler is out for a couple of weeks, Hockey Thurgau has now signed former Rapperswil-Jona netminder David Aebischer to a short-term contract until the end of November.

As Hockey Thurgau informs, they have found a private investor who makes the signing of Aebischer possible. The 36-year-old goalie is the first Swiss player who won the Stanley Cup, back in 1996 with the Colorado Avalanche.

During the season 2007-08 he returned to Switzerland, where he signed with HC Lugano. Most recently, Aebischer dressed up for the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers, but his contract was not extended after the past season. Since then, Aebischer had been looking for a job.
