NLB - According to the Austrian newspaper Kurier, HC Thurgau's head coach Christian Weber is now allowed to join the Austrian national team after the game against HC Ajoie next week.

Weber had been named assistant coach for the Austrian national team and HC Thurgau did originally decide to let him go to Sochi, even though the National League B continues to play during the Olympic Games.

A couple of days ago, HC Thurgau decided that they needed Weber after all and that he has to remain in Thurgau. But the Austrian Hockey Association put the National League B team under a lot of pressure and they successfully reached a compromise with HCTG.

Weber will stay with the team until after the game against HC Ajoie on Tuesday and then fly over to Sochi, so that he will be able to join the Austrian team on the 12th of February. Luckily, his accreditation for Sochi is still valid and he only has to book a new flight.
