ZSC’s Morris Trachsler suspended for the first two games of the final

According to the single judge, Trachsler’s charge was a direct attack with the elbow against Petrell’s head and the ZSC forward accepted with that the risk of his opponent getting injured on the play which constitutes a violation of IIHF Rule 527 (Excessive Roughness).

Taking all factors into account, including the culpability of Trachsler as well as the fact that it was an attack to the head and neck area, Steinmann concludes a suspension of three games to be appropriate.
