The 32-year-old goaltender had originally signed a contract with the Lions that would have lasted until October, but now he will get the chance to get some more hockey in with last season's champions.
Leimbacher joined the Lions from the now defunct EHC Basel Sharks. He has since then played in five pre-season games for ZSC, posting a 2.35 GAA.
