Asked by SCB Talk host Hans-Markus Tschirren about the transfers Leuenberger made, Lüthi says: "Yes, there were transfers, which he probably would not make again now that he knows the outcome, but if you look at his performance over the last four to five years, he clearly has the best track record of any team manager in the league. We were successful the last four years and now we had -for once- a very bad season, but that is also in the nature of sports."

He makes clear though, that management will closely look at this season's failure: "Of course you try to avoid such a situation, but it does not always work and it can happen. We will look at it, assess the situation and we will make the necessary changes, but I do not think that that always has to go hand in hand with firing people."

As for the financial loss the SC Bern will probably make due to missing the playoffs, Lüthi confirms that the players will have to pay the organisation 15 %  of their salaries, since the contracts of the Bears are performance based.
