NLA - Thomas Déruns left the ice last Saturday on wobbly legs after a collision with ZSC Lions forward Mike Künzle. Künzle was not penalized for the play. Now, Lausanne HC has decided to hand in the images to the single judge.

As 24 heures reports, Déruns was definitely injured in the collision with Künzle, his suspected concussion now being confirmed. As Heinz Ehlers had announced after the game on Saturday, they were going to review the play and then decide what to do.

Künzle allegedly checked Déruns to the head and if single judge Reto Steinmann decides upon further review that he indeed is guilty of this, a suspension might be looming on the horizon for the 20-year-old forward.

UPDATE Single judge Reto Steinmann has officially initiated proceedings against ZSC's Mike Künzle for violation of rule 124 iii IIHF (checking to the head and neck-area).  - 06 October 2014, 2:18 PM
