NLA - As the SIHF announces in a press release, single judge Reto Steinmann has suspended forward Petr Taticek for seven games. Additionally, the Czech will have to pay a fine of CHF 1,500.
The 30-year-old forward is being punished, because he violated rule 550f. IIHF (check against the linesman).
As for the severity of the suspension, SIHF makes clear that "attacks on officials, in particular referees, have to be massively harder punished than attacks on the opponent. According to the rules of the IIHF, but also by the unwritten principles of conduct, the referee in team sports is absolutely untouchable."
