The training camp in Chicago, which takes place at the beginning of June, will bring together young talents who are likely to be selected at this year's NHL Entry Draft on June 27/28 in Philadelphia.
"I want to play in the NHL as soon as possible," Rod said, "and if a club should really hire me but consider that I'm not yet ready for the big leap, I would (nevertheless) try to find an agreement to complete my apprenticeship with Geneva in the NLA."
At the moment, the 17-year-old forward is negotiating with Genève-Servette HC in order to get his first professional contract. "We are still in negotiations, but a signing is imminent," he confirmed to Le Tribune de Genève.
In the past season, Rod has completed a total of 40 games with the Grenats in Switzerland's highest League, scoring two goals and five assists. Furthermore, he has also played 33 games (18 goals, 22 assists) with Geneva's Elite A youth team.
