HC Lugano and their goaltending coach Leo Luongo have dissolved their contract because Luongo has received an offer to work in the goalie development program for an NHL franchise.
As Luongo tells "Ticinonews", he has signed a three-year contract with the Florida Panthers. However, throughout the season he will mostly work with the AHL, ECHL and junior players.
As a consequence, Luongo will also not be available to work as assistant coach for the HCB Ticino Rockets. In the upcoming days, Lugano will announce his successor. The 31-year-old Canadian had been working for the Bianconeri since 2013. (bsc/mso)
