This does not excactly come as a suprise, since technically alcohol and tobacco advertising in public buildings in the canton of Zurich has been prohibited since 2008, but this was often bypassed by sports teams.
Seeing this, Zurich's health director Thomas Heiniger decided last December that enough was enough and promised that he would come down harder on teams, which are not following that particular law.
Seems like he came through with his promise: If the teams ignore the law, they will be faced with fines up to 50'000 CHF. The advertisments for alcoholic beverages are not allowed to be visible from ten meters distance and can only reach a maximum of 100 square centimeters sizewise. Adverts for nonalcoholic beer are also not permitted.
The law will not only be applied to Zurich's sports teams, but it is also valid for every visiting team. Thus, some of the National League A or the National League B teams will need to have an additional jersey for the games against a Zurich based team.
