Apparently, Kevin Schläpfer was not the only head coach of a club team that was contacted by the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation without them informing the team of their intentions.

As Gaudenz Domenig tells the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Raeto Raffainer, Director of the National Teams, has also contacted Arno Del Curto without asking HC Davos for their permission to speak to him. However, apparently Del Curto right away put an end to those discussions.
However, the president of HCD is less than happy with the league: "If EHC Biel will make a motion at the next National League assembly in order to prevent such things from happening in the future, I would support them." (mso)
UPDATE As Arno Del Curto tells the "Blick", he was not contacted by anybody following Hanlon's release last week: "But if I should be asked, I will certainly give an answer. At the moment, I have plenty of work with HCD to bring the team back into shape," the 59-year-old explains. Also president Domenig precises his statements in the "NZZ": "I've never said that AdC was specifically requested to join the national team. I've said that there were contacts between Raffainer and Del Curto two months ago. But that was all about the basic question if a double mandate would be a possibility."
