Successor of Sean Simpson will not be announced before the World Championship

NATIONAL TEAM - Sean Simpson is currently in the fourth preparation week with the Swiss national team for the World Championship in Minsk. As we already know, this will be his last tournament with Switzerland, but who his successor will be and when he is going to be named is not clear as of now.

"We have nothing to announce at the moment", answers the vice president of competitive sports Pius-David Kuonen, after he received various questions about the vacant head coach position.

Furthermore, according to the Südostschweiz, Simpson's successor will certainly not be announced before the end of the World Championship in Minsk. The Swiss Ice Hockey Federation wants to focus on the tournament and then make a decision regarding the head coach position.

The quest to find a new coach for the Swiss national team has not been easy so far. Several of the candiates for the job either declined the offer (Arno Del Curto) or found another club team to coach (Harold Kreis, Slawa Bykov).
