Confirmed: Adler Mannheim are interested in Sean Simpson

As reported earlier this week, there were rumors around that Simpon's contract extension with the SIHF would not be just a mere formality. The Canadian himself said that they are working on a new agreement, but that they have put the negotiations on ice during the Olympic Games. But the 53-year-old national coach is not only wanted by the SIHF.

As Teal Fowler, team manger of the Adler Mannheim, confirms that Simpons fits their requirements for a new head coach: "Sean had in his career success everywhere. He is one of the best, but if he will be on the market, we will not be the only club, who wants to secure his services."

The Adler are feverishly searching for a new head coach. Currently in this position is Hans Zach, who was hired at the beginning of January. But the 64-year-old German always said that his stint with the Adler would be a temporary one. Simpson certainly would also meet other critiria Fowler set up: "The new coach has to match our philosophy. It does not matter, what nationality the coach has, but the German language is a factor, but in the end, it is more important that he will help developing the players."

We will see, how Sean Simpson's contract negotations with the SIHF will turn out. It may all depend on the outcome of the Olympic Games in Sochi.
