Marc Rüegg suffered a concussion in September, one of several he had to deal with throughout his career, but this one proved to be one too much. The former NLB defenseman has to hang up his skates.
As his current team EHC Wetzikon informs, the doctors told Rüegg to put an end to his hockey career, as the risks of permanent damage, if he suffers another blow to the head, are too high.
The 25-year-old defenseman is a product of SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers' organisation and has played in six NLA games for the Kloten Flyers and 152 NLB games for Basel, SC Langenthal, EHC Visp and the SCL Tigers. (mso)
