Even though no contracts have been signed yet, the 50-year-old reportedly acquired the assurance for his new position. In his first year in office, he will be assisted by the current Officiating Manager Konstantin Komissarow. After the Olympic Games in Peyongchan in 2018, Kurmann will have the full responsibility.

The former player of SC Luzern started officiating in the NLA in 1989. Ever since then, he has also had the opportunity to officiate at ten World Championships and three Olympic Games. (rlu/bsc)
