Those two teams have secured the rights to participate by reaching the semifinals in the National League A playoffs. With this, the Swiss league will have six teams in the competition.

The first edition of the revived Champions Hockey League will consist of 40 clubs with the first games starting in the second half of August 2014. The final stages, the playoffs, will take place from November to the beginning of February next year.
