NLB - The Rapperswil-Jona Lakers announce that they have signed four new players and were able to agree to terms with several players who were already part of the squad in the 2014-15 season.

Goaltender Melvin Nyffeler, 20, joins the Lakers from HC Fribourg-Gottéron and has signed a one-year contract. Nyffeler's teammate, defenseman Marc Zangger, 24, also will be part of their 2015-16 squad and stays until 2016. Furthermore, 26-year-old forward Roman Schlagenhauf, who spent the last four seasons with HC Ambrì-Piotta, has agreed to a two-year deal, which will keep him in Rapperswil until 2017.

Moreover, Ryan McGregor, whose father Mark used to coach the Lakers for a short while in 1998, has also signed on for one year. The 24-year-old forward is a product of the ZSC Lions' organisation and played the last four years college hockey for Harvard University.

The Rapperswil-Jona Lakers were also able to re-negotiate some of the contracts that were voided after the teams relegation to the NLB. Patrick Schommer, 26, Cédric Hüsler, 21, Lars Frei, 20, Manuel Grigioni, 20, and Fabio Högger, 19, have all signed one-year contracts, whereas Antonio Rizzello, 30, Leandro Profico, 25, Rajan Sataric, 23, Valentin Lüthi, 21, and Tim Grossniklaus, 20, will stay for two additional seasons.

Furthermore, U20 defenseman Michael Schaub, 19, and forward Jan Vogel, 19, get signed to their first professional contract and will stay with the Lakers until the end of the 2015-16 season. (mso)
