NLB - HC Sion, who is currently competing for the Swiss Amateur Championship title, has filed the papers to be promoted to the NLB for next season last week. However, as 24 Heures reports, it will not be as Lausanne HC's farm team.

Lausanne HC and HC Sion have been in talks to find a partnership agreement for some time now but as LHC's Sacha Weibel tells the same source, there are still important points to be sorted out, which will unlikely all be sorted out in time.

"Even if everything works out well between our two clubs, it seems impossible to me that we will arrive at a solution very quickly so that we could take over a majority share in HC Sion, as the regulations require it for the upcoming season."

But that does not mean that HC Sion's plans are being put on ice. The Valaisans are still just as determined to be a part of the NLB next season, says Sion's president Gérald Bressoud.

Even though a farm team solution is out of the question, the two clubs are still working together on finding another solution for a partnership or a collaboration of some kind. (lcu)
