NLB - William Rapuzzi, Andy Furrer, Martin Alihodzic and Joël Wyssen will all stay with EHC Visp for another year. Beat Heldstab (photo), on the other hand, has decided to put an end to his professional ice hockey career.

EHC Visp has made use of their option to extend the contract with their American forward William Rapuzzi for another year. Also still with the team next season are forwards Andy Furrer, 27, Martin Alihodzic, 20, and youngster Joël Wyssen.

On the other hand, EHC Visp has to say a big good-bye as their long-time defenseman Beat Heldstab has decided to hang up his skates for good. The 36-year-old has been part of EHC Visp's roster since 1999 and appeared in 836 games for EHC Visp over the past 16 years.

In 877 career NLB games for EHC Visp and Hockey Thurgau, the defenseman registered a total of 167 goals and 357 assists. The native of Chur also participated in 71 NLA games (four points).

Furthermore, the club confirms, that Viktor Borter will step down as president after eleven years. Norbert Eyer is set to replace him and lead EHC Visp together with vice-president Stefan Volken. (lcu)
