The 35-year-old defenseman last played for the Vienna Capitals, scoring 16 points (four goals, twelve assists) in 28 games. The third round draft pick of the New Jersey Devils, who was also part of the Austrian national team in the Olympic Games in Sochi, spent the most part of his career in the Austrian League playing for the Capitals and EC Salzburg, but he also spent some time in the DEL, the SHL, the KHL and the AHL.
