Shortly after his betting affair became acquainted, Starkov was fired by his former club EIK Esbjerg (DEN) and moved to HC Red Ice at the middle of February.
Pending the decision of the Danish Sports Federation, the 27-year-old was eligible to play in Switzerland - under the condition that the SIHF will take over and apply all the sanctions against Starkov once the decision is taken (happened on March 11, 2014).
