After Desmarais had to leave HC Ajoie, he joined EHC Visp midway through the current season and celebrated the Championship title of the National League B with the team from the Valais.
Right after yesterday's loss in the League Qualification against EHC Biel, the 34-year-old Canadian said that he sees his future with EHC Visp: "I'm in discussions with Visp. I think it will work out and that I'll stay. It's what i wish for." Desmarais told RFJ. "We have agreed on terms. Only the signature is missing."
