Noreau had been brought in contact with Ambrì and EHC Biel. However, with the Biancoblù committing to Mikko Mäenpää and Biel's team manager Martin Steinegger denying the contact, both options were nixed pretty quickly. SC Bern was looking to sign an import defenseman and they have now found a known commodity with the French Canadian.

The 28-year-old defensman spent the last two seasons in North America with the Colorado Avalanche's AHL affiliate. This past year, he scored twelve goals and 33 assists in 64 games for the San Antonio Rampage. His contract will run through 2018, but, according to the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, he has an NHL out-clause valid at the end of the 2016-17 season. (mso)
