Bouchard (photo) joined EV Zug two years ago and appeared in 108 NLA games for them. This season, he scored 72 points (15 goals, 57 assists) in 53 games and was crowned the Most Valuable Player of the regular season.

However, having suffered several concussions throughout the course of his career, the health risk of suffering yet another one is too high and accordingly, the 31-year-old Canadian forward decided to hang up his skates.

Moreover, after the disappointing quarterfinal loss to HC Lugano, EV Zug decided that forward Dario Bürgler and defenseman Daniel Sondell have to leave the Bulls with immediate effect despite valid contracts. According to the press release, EVZ is looking to find a "fair solution" to dissolve their contracts. Both players have been with Zug for two seasons. (bsc)
