mt_ignoreIn an interview with Ticinonews, HC Lugano's team manager Roland Habisreutinger reveals that they are still in talks with Maxim Lapierre. There might be a chance that the deal will be done by tomorrow afternoon.

"We are still dealing with different aspects, we are still in negotiations", says the 43-year-old and adds that he cannot predict the success rate of the negotiations. As for Ilari Filppula, Habisreutinger confirms that MoDo is an option but "not the only one."

"Let us work. It is not my place to reveal all of our strategies", the team manager says, when asked if the Finn might be able to stay in Switzerland. As for a timeline regarding Lapierre, Habisreutinger says that they have "no result today, but maybe tomorrow afternoon." (mso)

UPDATE In the meantime, HC Lugano has confirmed that they have signed Maxim Lapierre until the end of the season. He is expected to arrive in Lugano tomorrow. 
As a consequence, Ilari Filppula will have to leave the Bianconeri. He will be loaned to another team outside of Switzerland. (bsc)  - 25 Janury 2016, 5:19 PM
UPDATE As MoDo Hockey announces, Ilari Filppula will join them with immediate effect. He will thus join the team that parted ways with Lapierre just last week. He will play on loan until the end of this season, but the Finnish forward has already signed a contract with them for the upcoming season as well. (bsc) - 25 January 2016, 5:37 PM
