According to the Neue Luzener Zeitung, EV Zug's Josh Holden has received a new one-year contract offer. As reported in December, Holden will have to accept a pay cut, albeit a smaller one than initially expected.

In December, Holden declined the option in his current contract for a two-year deal to work with Zug's junior coaching stuff. According to the same source, the interest from other clubs in Holden's services is rather sparce. As a consequence, team manager Reto Kläy might have the upper hand in the ongoing negotiations.

The 37-year-old joined Zug back in 2008 and is currently in his eighth season with the Bulls. His current contract is expiring at the end of term. This season thus far, Holden has appeared in 28 games for Zug, scoring eleven goals and 20 assists. (bsc)
