With the departure of Calle Andersson just a few weeks before the start of new season HC Lugano has suffered a loss. However, team manager Roland Habisreutinger seems not to be particularly concerned about it.

"We already knew that there was this risk when he moved to Lugano last year. After Calle participated in the prospect camp two weeks ago, the New York Rangers have let us know that their wish is to offer him a new contract," Habisreutinger told RSI Sport. "Calle had a clause that allowed him to move to the NHL and we are glad that he took this decision even though it is not for the benefit of Lugano. However, we are pleased to have helped a young man in his development."

Will Andersson's departure be a reason for HC Lugano to screen the market in order to find a replacement for him? Habisreutinger denies: "I think our defensive roster is wide and strong enough so that we don't have to go on the market. Furthermore, at this time there is no one available and able to take his place." (rlu)
