"It was quite easy to reach an agreement. I met Zanatta and Pelletier, and we shook hands," Mäenpää said. "I started thinking about an adventure in Switzerland already after my former club Lev Praha went bankrupt last year. I'm ready and excited."
Mäenpää played for JYP Jyväskylä in the Finnish Liiga last season, where he was able to put up five goals and 18 assists in a total of 31 games. Over the course of his career the Finn also played 144 KHL games (Amur Khabarovsk, CSKA Moscow, HC Lev Praha), 226 Liiga games (Pelican, JYP, HPK) and 62 SHL games (Frölunda, Skellefteå). (rlu)
