National League

NLA - Bud Holloway has decided to try his luck in North America, as he tells Swedish newspaper Norran. There were other options on the table, but ultimately "I would never be able to forgive myself, if I didn't try to play in the NHL."

The 27-year-old forward had long thought about staying in Bern or taking his services to his former team Skellefteå for the upcoming season, but the Canadian says now that he has decided against these options.

Instead he will try to get signed by an NHL organisation, even if that means that he has to start in the AHL first: "I'm a free agent for the first time in my career and it feels right to try. I have spoken with my agent and it feels like the best option this season."

Holloway was drafted by the L.A. Kings back in 2006, but only ever played for their AHL affiliate the Manchester Monarchs (2008-2011), scoring 145 points in 214 games. This season, he put up 17 goals, and 28 assists in 53 games for SC Bern. (mso)
