The 28-year-old forward is currently still recovering from a concussion he sustained during the playoffs, but he is projected to be ready for the start of the on-ice training in August.
Rivera has regularly played with the first team of Eagles since 2004 and has appeared in 517 games for them since then. This year, he scored seven goals and eight assists in 50 games.
